The Red Rocket Looks to Take Off Against Duke

Yes, this is UVA football’s first game. It’s a little late into the season for a team’s first game isn’t it?! Well, Virginia Tech and their sloppy handling of the Covid situation means that UVA lost its week one opponent. Hey, if VT wants UVA to have the Commonwealth Cup a little longer, then who’s complaining. It has been said that Covid ran through the VT football team much like UVA’s Bryce Perkins did in the Commonwealth Clash last year. Enough with the VT slander though. For now, it’s on to Duke.
The aforementioned Bryce Perkins may be hard to replace; however, UVA is giving the reigns over to a red-haired, lefty, rocket slinging passer in Brennan Armstrong. Dubbed ‘The Red Rocket’, Armstrong showed flashes of both his passing and mobile ability in short stints over the past few years. Think about it, a fast, red-haired, lefty who is willing to absolutely sling it in a Bronco Mendenhall offense that is centered around the Quarterback. Damnit, sign me up!
UVA is riding a five-game winning streak versus Duke heading into this one. Besides losing Perkins and two key Wide Receivers in Hasise Dubois and Joe Reed, the offense returns virtually everyone. Defensively, UVA returns eight starters. Look for the Cavaliers to make a strong showing against Duke. ITS TIME FOR THE RED ROCKET TO TAKE OFF BABY!
WAHOOWA!
