Texas junior QB Casey Thompson will leave Texas after starting 10 games this season for the Longhorns.
Thompson had a great stat line of 165-261 for 2,113 yards and 24 touchdowns for the season. Not a bad way to leave the Longhorns. Ohio State transfer QB Quinn Ewers has signed with Texas so it was always likely that Texas would lose a quarterback to the transfer portal.
Texas has a deep quarterback room including Ben Ballard, Hudson Card, Cole Lourd, Charles Wright and was Casey Thompson. They are just swapping Thompson for Ewers and adding 4-Star Maalik Murphy. It is safe to say that Texas will be good at quarterback for the future.
Thompson will be a great pickup for a team. I'd expect him to stay in Texas or go back to Oklahoma.
