State Farm Showdown Game 2: Ole Doesn't Miss in 7-3 Victory Over TCU

The #7 Ole Miss Rebels held off an early rally by the #10 TCU Horned Frogs, and prevailed to win the second game of the State Farm College Baseball Showdown 7-3.

After an eventful first two innings, it was a quiet game for the most part until the Rebels scored two in the seventh and one in the ninth. Ben Van Cleve began scoring for the Rebels in the second with a two-run double to score Justin Bench and Kevin Graham, followed by a Hayden Dunhirst single to score Hayden Leatherwood. Trey LaFleur then hit into a double play but scored Van Cleve.

On the other side, all three of TCU's runs came off of walks in the bottom of the third- Sacco, Wolf, and Chatagnier-all off of Ole Miss starter Doug Nikhazy with two outs in the bottom of the second.

More scoring for Ole Miss came via a two-run double in the seventh by Peyton Chatagnier, and then an RBI single also by Chatagnier in the ninth.

TCU SP Johnny Ray(0-1) went three innings, giving up four runs on three hits and three walks and striking out four.
