The 87th winner of the Heisman Trophy will be announced on the evening of Sunday, December 12th. The four finalists have been selected: Alabama's Bryce Young, Ohio State's CJ Stroud, Pittsburgh's Kenny Pickett, and Michigan's Aidan Hutchinson. The question remains though: did they get it right? Unlike previous years, the answer is anything but obvious. There are so many excellent options who played extraordinarily this season while helping to elevate their school to new heights!

Always a highly debated topic: who was the best player this season in College Football?

Everybody seems to have their own metric on judging this too. Some people look for the quarterback who performed the best; some people look for a player who was absolutely critical to their team's success; and some people look for the player who was, in their opinion, undoubtedly the best all-around player in College Football.

At Sidelines Sports, we gave our writers the opportunities to make their voices and opinions heard. We polled our staff room and tasked them with giving us their Top 6 players from this season. Each first place vote was worth 6 points while each of the following placements received 1 point less than the former.

The votes are in! Winning by only TWO votes, the Sidelines Sports Network Player of the Year is the quarterback from Pittsburgh, Kenny Pickett!

Pickett led the Panthers to an 11-2 Record, an ACC Championship, and the school's first birth in a BCS/NY6 Bowl Game since 2004! Pickett had a season to remember, throwing for 4,319 yards and 42 touchdowns through 13 games while only tossing 7 interceptions. Pickett also had his best season running the ball of this career, running for 241 yards and 5 touchdowns including the famous fake-slide in the ACC Championship game against Wake Forest!

The full voting results can be seen below. Alabama QB Bryce Young finished 2nd place in voting. Aidan Hutchinson was the highest voted defensive player, finishing 5th with 60 points.
