College Basketball Picks 11/26

We were a missed free throw late from Michigan away from a 5-1 start, but oh well. There are less games today, so not as many picks for you all. I’m also sure everyone will be watching football on this Thanksgiving so place some college basketball bets and give yourself something to enjoy while you watch some bad teams play football. Happy Thanksgiving and let’s stay hot!

Purdue Ml vs Clemson: Ken Pom Projection 68-64 Purdue

Purdue has an endless supply of 7 foot plus centers, and I’m not sure how its possible. There 7’4” freshman is simply dominate, and I expect that to continue. Clemson struggled to score yesterday against Mississippi State, and Purdue should be a much better defensive team. I think Purdue wins this game by about 10.

Memphis -4.5 vs Western Kentucky: Ken Pom Projection 79-73

Memphis is coming off of a blowout win over Saint Mary’s where they held Saint Mary’s to 5% shooting for 3. Although this is probably a product of bad shooting, I’m going to give some credit to Memphis. Western Kentucky needed 93 points to beat Northern Iowa in a game that featured little defense. I think Memphis defense will slow the Western Kentucky offense while the same can’t be said in reverse.

VCU +11 vs West Virginia: Ken Pom Projection 75-66 WVU

For a team that has 2 NBA big men and not great shooting WVU sure likes to shoot. They hot 25% of their threes in the last game and shot an absurd 41% of their total field goals from deep. VCU held Utah State to just 23.5% shooting from 3. Additionally, WVU did not cover this margin against South Dakota State, who is a similar team to VCU.

Auburn -7.5 vs Saint Joseph’s: Ken Pom projection: 82-72

This is each team’s first games of the season so all I have to go off here is last season. In 2019 St. Joes won only 6 games. Here’s the stat I find most interesting, last season St. Joes took nearly 50% of their field goals from 3. This is the 5th most in D1 and I don’t see this being sustainable in the first game of the season vs Auburn. Obviously, you risk the chance of them coming out hot, but I’ll take my chance because it doesn’t seem that happened often last year.

Only 4 Picks today, still looking to build a bankroll and want to have some money for football. Good luck to all those playing, and remember to gamble responsibly.
