Can App State Shock the Sun Belt?
After a disappointing loss to Marshall earlier this year, many counted App State out. Can they catch their conference by surprise now?

The Mountaineers dominated a good Arkansas State team last night to remain unbeaten in conference play. The offense that struggled so mightily against Marshall came alive to put up 45 points against the Red Wolves. With QB Zac Thomas back on his game, can App State reclaim their Sun Belt crown?
Looking ahead, the Mountaineers should be 6-1 heading into play Coastal Carolina, after beating ULM, Texas State and Georgia State. With their lone loss coming to a ranked Marshall team, will the App State/Coastal game be a ranked match up? Perhaps, setting up the winner to play in the Sun Belt Championship against almost certainly Louisiana. App State has been the frontrunner in the Fun Belt for so long its incredible that no one is talking about them after losing just one game. I guess their own success, going undefeated most seasons, has spoiled fans and analysts alike.
Don't sleep on the Mountaineers, they have a veteran squad with tons of winning experience. Coastal is the clear threat to App State's Sun Belt East Division hegemony. If App's defense can play as lights out against Grayson McCall as they did the Arkansas State Hatcher/Bonner duo, then it's game over. That is no easy task however, McCall is performing at an even higher level than Grant Wells of Marshall who slung it all over the field against App State. Hedge your bets on the Neers though, they've shared or won outright the Sun Belt title for the last 4 seasons and don't appear to be slowing down anytime soon.
