AP Poll Prediction: Week 8
So many upsets!! Alabama tops Clemson for #1 team in the country this week, but how far will UNC fall?

Dropped from the rankings: #15 Auburn, #18 Tennessee, #21 Louisiana
#25 Marshall- W 35-17 vs Louisiana Tech. The Herd return to the Top 25 after a brief absence remaining unbeaten at 4-0. QB Grant Wells continues to operate at a high level, giving Marshall high odds to win out.
#24 NC State- W 31-20 vs Duke. The Wolfpack recovered from a 10 point deficit to Duke to reach 4-1. Their only loss being @ #20 Virginia Tech
#23 Coastal Carolina- W 30-27 vs #21 Louisiana. The Chants took down unbeaten Louisiana to remain perfect themselves & atop the Sun Belt standings. CCU suddenly enters the NY6 conversation.
#22 USC- N/A
#21 Minnesota- N/A
#20 Virginia Tech- W 40-14 vs Boston College. The Hokies rolled to a crushing win over surging BC to avenge last week's loss to UNC. With Carolina's loss to FSU, the Hokies are in a good position in the ACC standings.
#19 Kansas State- N/A
#18 Iowa State- N/A
#17 Michigan- N/A
#16 North Carolina- L 28-31 vs Florida State. Mack Brown remains winless against him alma mater. The Noles carried a 31-7 lead into halftime but Carolina clawed its way back. Were it not for 3 crucial catches being dropped the Tar Heels would have won or at least forced overtime.
#15 SMU- W 37-34 vs Tulane. A squeaker for Shane Buechele and Co. Tulane has played every game quite competitively this year but fell short once again. The Mustangs stay alive and undefeated at 5-0.
#14 Wisconsin- N/A
#13 BYU- W 43-26 vs Houston. This one was a dogfight through 3 quarters as Houston's defense kept a lid on Zach Wilson for the most part. The BYU Cougs pulled away with 22 points in the 4th quarter to seal the victory.
#12 Oregon- N/A
#11 Miami- W 31-19 vs Pitt. The Canes beat a quality Pitt team that managed to hang tough despite not having starting QB and NCAA passing leader, Kenny Pickett. D'Eriq King needs to clean up his play if Miami is going to challenge Clemson in the ACC title game.
#10 Florida- Game against LSU postponed
#9 Texas A&M- W 28-14 vs Miss State. The Aggies played alright in a win over a Miss State team still searching for a rhythm.
#8 Georgia- L 24-41 vs #2 Alabama. The Dawgs fell apart after taking a lead into halftime. Not a single point was scored by Georgia in the second half after looking like the better team in the first half. UGA won't fall far.
#7 Penn State- N/A
#6 Cincinnati- Game against Tulsa postponed
#5 Oklahoma State- Game against Baylor postponed
#4 Ohio State- N/A
#3 Notre Dame- W 12-7 vs Louisville. What an ugly game, but a win is a win. The Irish must get more productivity out of Ian Book if they want any shot against Clemson in a ACC title fight.
#2 Clemson- W 73-7 vs Georgia Tech. Despite the largest ACC margin of victory ever, the Tigers drop to #2 this week. A dominant performance all around proved that Trevor Lawrence and the Tigers are still head and shoulders above their conference peers.
#1 Alabama- W 41-24 vs #3 Georgia. Alabama rolled against the Dawgs, shutting them out in the second half to secure the victory. Will these two teams meet again in the SEC Championship? Given UGA's first half performance I would be willing to bet so. Without having seen OSU play yet, Clemson and Bama look poised for another National Championship rematch.
Shoutout to Liberty (5-0) for their first ACC victory ever!
